The Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine welcomed dozens of community members to campus on Saturday, March 28 for its sixth annual Community Health Fair, offering free health services and educational opportunities.
Hosted by ICOM’s Student Government Association and Health Fair Committee, the event provided attendees ages 18 and older with complimentary physical exam screenings, blood pressure checks, and other preventive services. Throughout the morning, ICOM student physicians also led educational sessions covering topics such as blood pressure, body mass index, pathology and radiology, and osteopathic manipulative medicine.
The fair also featured a variety of local healthcare partners and community organizations. The Saint Alphonsus Mobile Mammography Bus was on-site, offering digital mammography and clinical breast exams, while additional vendors provided services including vaccinations, lipid panel and A1C screenings, and information on community health resources.
“ICOM’s Community Health Fair is a meaningful way for our students to give back while promoting preventive health and wellness,” said Student Physician Genovese Le, Community Outreach Chair for ICOM’s Student Government Association. “It’s a great opportunity to connect with the community and help individuals stay informed about their health.”
Attendees had the chance to engage directly with healthcare providers, connect with local organizations, and learn more about wellness resources available in the community — all at no cost.
The annual event continues to reflect ICOM’s commitment to community engagement and improving access to preventive healthcare across the region.
