The Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine recently opened its doors to 25 Boise State University students from the Pre-Health Club for a day of exploration, connection, and inspiration.

Hosted in partnership by ICOM’s PreSOMA (Pre-Student Osteopathic Medical Association) chapter and the Admissions Department, the event gave aspiring health professionals and inside look at life as a medical student.

The visit included a guided tour of ICOM’s state-of-the-art facilities, where guests experienced firsthand the spaces where future physicians train — including simulation and anatomy labs, classrooms, and study areas.

In addition to touring campus, Boise State students had the opportunity to sit down with current ICOM student doctors for candid conversations about the medical school application process, the transition from undergraduate to medical education, and what drew them to osteopathic medicine.

The collaboration between ICOM’s Admissions team and the student-led PreSOMA chapter underscores the College’s commitment to mentoring and supporting future health professionals across Idaho and the region.

By the end of the visit, Boise State students left with new insights into the journey toward medical school — and a sense of connection to the growing community of future physicians at ICOM.
