As the Class of 2025 prepares to don their caps and gowns, a select group of fourth-year medical students marked an especially meaningful milestone this week: induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS). The ceremony, held during graduation week, celebrated students who exemplify compassionate care, integrity, and a deep commitment to serving patients with empathy and respect.

The GHHS, a national organization established by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation, honors medical students, residents, and faculty who demonstrate excellence in clinical care while prioritizing human connection. At ICOM, this year’s inductees were chosen by their peers and faculty for consistently demonstrating kindness, leadership, and a patient-centered approach throughout their medical education.

This year’s Gold Humanism Honor Society inductees include:

  • Mohammad Abuakar
  • Yasaman Arabi
  • Nicole Babkowski
  • Andy Diep
  • Hannah Duckson
  • Shannon Gargas
  • Renee Lawrence
  • Jett Murray
  • Olivia Paulsen
  • Hilarie Perez
  • Dallas Petroff
  • Zoe Ramia
  • Nick Rincon
  • Chris Taylor

As they move on to residency programs across the country, the GHHS inductees leave behind a legacy of compassionate care and peer leadership that will inspire future classes. The timing of the induction — just one day before graduation — serves as both a celebration and a call to continue putting patients first.
