The Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine welcomed more than 50 accepted students to campus for Your Future in Focus, an immersive, daylong experience designed to give future student physicians a closer look at life at ICOM.
The event opened with a warm welcome and guided campus tours, giving students the opportunity to explore ICOM’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the research lab, simulation center, osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) lab and small-group learning spaces. Throughout the day, attendees connected with current student physicians, gaining valuable insight into student life, curriculum, and the supportive learning community that defines ICOM.
One of the day’s highlights included a session led by ICOM’s Assistant Dean of Research, Dr. Sara Adams, who shared exciting research and scholarly activity opportunities available to students – from biomedical research and community health initiatives to national conference presentations and peer-reviewed publication pathways.
Hands-on learning came to life as accepted students participated in simulation activities, experiencing what it’s like to train with some of the same tools and technologies they’ll use as future physicians.
The event concluded with a fun, memorable evening downtown, where attendees cheered on the Idaho Steelheads hockey team – a perfect way to cap off a day centered on connection, community and the bright future of osteopathic medicine.
