ICOM takes additional precautions amid local coronavirus spike

With Central District Health’s recent order for Ada County to return to Stage 3 of Idaho’s original reopening process, the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine (ICOM) is again closed to external groups,  non-essential visitors and campus tours. Employees are permitted flexibility to work remotely, if needed.

ICOM resumed full operations on June 15, and continues to operate under a “new normal.” Under the new normal operational guidelines, employees and students and will continue to engage in physical distancing of at least six feet, wear face coverings in public areas, and stay home if sick. Temperature checks are performed at entrances.

The Fall 2020 semester, which begins on Aug. 3, is scheduled to begin on time and will include in-person instruction. In preparation, the college is making adjustments in scheduling, teaching methods, and use of space to deliver the curriculum while implementing public health guidelines. Contingency plans are being created, should the need arise to return to distance learning.
