ICOM, Meridian Celebrate National Osteopathic Medicine Week

On April 2, Mayor Robert Simison of the City of Meridian, signed a proclamation declaring April 15-21, 2024 to be “National Osteopathic Medicine Week” in the city that is home to Idaho’s first and only osteopathic medical school.

Led by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), National Osteopathic Medicine Week, or NOM Week, is a national observance intended to bring members of the osteopathic community together to raise awareness of osteopathic medicine.

In attendance were ICOM President, Dr. Tracy Farnsworth; Chair of Primary Care, Rodney Bates, DO; and Assistant Professor of Family Medicine, Justin Parkinson, DO. Three second-year Students Doctors — all of whom are Meridian natives — were also in attendance, including Theron Hawks, Tanner Hill, and Nicole Jordan.
