ICOM extends second phase of its reopening plan

In continuation of its plan to gradually resume normal operations, the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine (ICOM) is extending the second phase of its reopening plan through June 15.

As an extension of its second phase, ICOM employees returning for on-campus work must continue to adhere to guidelines regarding physical distancing, personal protections, assurance of personal hygiene and in-person gatherings. The utilization of face masks will continue to be required in common areas on the first and second floors.

Additionally, students may continue returning to campus for independent study but must remain on the first or second floor in a reserved study room. Students may not enter laboratories or lecture halls without approval, and must continue adhering to guidelines regarding physical distancing, personal protections, assurance of personal hygiene and in-person gatherings.

Face masks remain available at ICOM’s main entrance. At-risk employees and students may not enter the building. Non-essential visitors are not allowed on campus at this time.

“ICOM has remained engaged and productive with our flexible distance working and learning environment,” said Dr. Thomas J. Mohr, Dean and Chief Academic Officer. “We will continue to take our state and local guidelines into consideration as we work to bring our medical students back to campus in July.”

The Reopen ICOM Task Force continues to meet and will release recommendations for Phase 3, which is anticipated to begin on Monday, June 15. In the interim, ICOM’s Day Porter continues to execute an intensified custodial plan to ensure a fully sanitized building.
