ICOM’s COVID Task Force Prepares for Spring Semester

The Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine’s COVID-19 Task Force met Wednesday, Jan. 6, and is recommending the following procedures to allow ICOM to continue to move forward with the curriculum for its medical students with the least disruption possible, as the spring semester begins Monday, Jan. 11. 


Status of COVID-19 Vaccinations for Student Doctors

10-Day Quarantine

ICOM is requiring a 10-day quarantine for all students prior to opening the campus. From January 11-20, students are expected to be in the Treasure Valley under quarantine conditions. 

Required Check-Ins

All students are required to check-in on Monday, Jan. 11. In order to check-in, students must physically come to campus between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and personally swipe their ICOM identification badge at the southeast campus entrance. 

Additional Check-Ins

Students will be asked to check-in again on two separate occasions during the 10-day quarantine to ensure they are physically present in the area. The procedure will be the same, but the dates will be announced separately. 


ICOM intends to reopen the campus following quarantine on Thursday, Jan. 21. At that time, students may enter the campus and the study rooms will be available to reserve. Close contact training will resume while utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE). COVID precautions will remain in effect. Students and employees should continue to wear face masks in common areas and study rooms if more than one person is present. 

Anatomy Lab

First-year students will not be required to undergo COVID testing to enter the ISU-Meridian campus or the Treasure Valley Anatomy and Physiology Laboratory.
